Encore includes Trusty, an AI assistant powered by Claude from Anthropic, and Developer adds the AI Model Builder. Encore supplies the integration; you supply the AI.
To use them, get your own Anthropic API key. Anthropic bills your AI usage directly, so it's never marked up or bundled into your Encore license.
Note that a Claude Pro or Max subscription doesn't include API credits: you'll need API access with billing set up in the Anthropic Console. Claude is the only supported AI provider today; others are planned.
Questions
What happens when my 14-day trial ends?
Encore becomes Viewer, which is free. Your models, reports and exports all stay accessible: you can still open, explore and report, you just can't save changes. Buy Runtime or Developer at any point to unlock the rest.
Should I buy once or subscribe?
Buying once costs more up front but the license is yours to keep, with the first year of maintenance included and optional maintenance after that. A subscription costs less up front and keeps you on the current version for as long as you subscribe.
I build models for clients. What should I buy?
Developer for you, and Runtime for each client who operates the models you build. We offer substantial discounts when consultants and fractional CFOs buy Runtime licenses for their clients. Ask us about volume pricing.
Do I need a Claude subscription?
No, not to use Encore. However, if you want to use the Trusty AI assistant or the Model Builder, you do need an Anthropic API key, which is different from a Claude Pro or Max subscription. Set one up in the Anthropic Console with billing enabled, then paste it into Encore's settings.
Does my data leave my computer?
Encore is Windows desktop software, and license checking is fully offline. Model content is sent to Anthropic only when you use Trusty or the Model Builder, which are opt-in.
How do I buy?
Click Buy, choose your edition and number of licenses, and pay by card. We'll email your license file, which you install from Settings, then About, with no reinstall needed. Need an invoice or purchase order instead? Email sales@ferox.com.
